Our Floor Sanding & Restoraton Process

Stage 1 : Floor repair

Damage to floorboards comes in many forms: age, damp and wood rot, etc.   Damaged floorboards can be replaced with new or reclaimed pine boards and made to look like your existing floor.

Stage 2: Gap filling.

Gap filling the space between floorboards helps create a uniform look to your floorboards.  Gap filling also has the added benefit of helping to insulate your floor against encroaching cold.

Stage 3: Floor Sanding

GJP Floor Sanding in Kent prides ourselves on a professional finish, which is why we only use “dust-free” machines on all of our jobs, cutting down on mess and increasing client satisfaction.

Stage 4: Choose a colour

The right stain can add warmth and depth to any room, completely transforming the space through bringing in warm, rich tones.  GJP Floor Sanding in Kent recommends Morrells stains for the best finish possible as they are long lasting, fast-drying, and have unrivalled colour depth.

Stage 5: Refinishing your Floor

The application of lacquer is usually the last step in the floor sanding process, which protects the floor for years to come.  Laquer is not only a long lasting solution to protecting your floors, but is also an attractive way to finish a floor.

Optional: hearth removal

GJP’s team of Kent-based floor sanders also offer a fire hearth removal service.  From uplifting the boards around the hearth to the final finish, erasing all traces of the hearth, we are here to help.
