Why do you use a stain AND a varnish instead of a coloured varnish?

The only advantage to using a coloured varnish is the time and convenience during the application process.

The disadvantage with a coloured varnish is it makes it difficult to know what the final colour of your floor will be. With each coat that you apply, the colour darkens and completely changes the look of your floor.

Another major disadvantage to coloured varnish is the colour begins to be affected by normal wear and tear almost immediately after applying it. As such, who knows what colour your floor will be in a few months or a few years.

GJP Floor Sanding London implements a process in which our seal protects both the floor and the colour of the wood. This ensures that your desired colour will last much, much longer than a coloured varnish.
